Reflective Journal 1- Bite-Back's new approach to Shark Conservation

http://www.bite-back.com/shark_conservation.htm

Summary of the article
Shark conservation organisation Bite-Back found out that 3290 tonnes of shark is consumed across the country each year which is roughly equivalent in weight to 2200 Ford Fiestas. Shark Meat being popularised by chefs, trendy restaurants and even supermarkets and more.Over-fishing is also decimating shark populations. The fishing industry is being forced to catch sharks faster than they can reproduce because more people want to eat it.the problem is so out of control that sharks have plummeted to just 10% of levels in 1950.Bite-Back hopes that just by removing shark from menus and fish counters, the retail industry can ease the pressure on vulnerable species promoting shark conservation and manage the oceans responsibly.

Reflection
Before reading up on the article I have no idea that shark living on earth are so little.I thought that there are still many sharks living on the earth and are not going to extinct so fast. After reading the article I learned that we should stop killing sharks in order to stop sharks from going extinct. The article also shows that 3290 tonnes of shark is consumed across the country each year which is equivalent to 2200 Ford Fiestas in weight which I think its a huge amount of sharks killed every year to me.Shark is popular throughout the world because of we humans who wants to eat it.We can all help by stop eating shark's fins and encourage restaurants to remove shark from menus and remove sharks from fish counters allowing the retail industry to ease the pressure on vulnerable species.Everyone can make the world a nicer place to live if everyone just stop eating sharks and sharks will not be killed anymore.
